Overview
During my internship at Prime Academy (an academic tutoring service), I served as the Lead UX Designer and Researcher, overseeing the redesign of their website. I led a team to improve the user experience by streamlining the registration process and enhancing the clarity of service information. Our work supported the company’s business development goals by making key program features more accessible and engaging for users.
Assessing the Previous Website
What are the main pain points?
▇ ▇ ▇ ▇
◉ Color Palette
The color palette of the previous website lacked cohesion and did not reflect a professional image.
◉ Mobile View
The mobile view of the website was disorganized, with overlapping text and photos.
◉ Navigation
The website's navigation was confusing and redundant, making it difficult for users to navigate.
User Research
The main user group are parents, signing their children up for tutoring sessions
〇 Parent 1
"It’s frustrating that I can’t easily find the resources I need—everything feels buried and overwhelming."
〇 Parent 2
‘The information is helpful, but the design makes it harder to get to what I need quickly."
〇 Parent 3
“The mobile view is so scrambled with overlapping text, I feel like I am missing information.”
Improved Design System
◉ Standardized Design System
Creating a standard design language helped make a more cohesive and professional website.
◉ Sophisticated Brand Image
Through color, font, and iconography I was able to reflect a professional and trustworthy brand image.
◉ Improved Website Organization
Creating a site map and discarding redundant tabs and information made the site user-friendly and intuitive.
